Year-End Awards Eligibility Requirements
Year-End Awards Eligibility Requirements
Year-end Awards: Special awards are presented to the top five placings in each division. To be eligible for year-end awards, the following rules apply. The complete set of rules are available on the SNHSA Rule Book & Bylaws page.
- Riders and, in most cases, their horses/ponies, must be members of SNHSA in good standing in order to accrue points for year-end awards. The exception is for horses/ponies ridden ONLY in Equitation Divisions 1-3, or the two SNHSA Medal classes. However, it is important to note that if the rider wishes to show the equitation mount in any other SNHSA division for which s/he would like to accrue points for year-end awards, the horse/pony MUST be registered with SNHSA.
- For members with trainers: if the trainer will be showing the horse in any division from which accrual of points is desired, or if the exhibitor is participating in either of the SNHSA Medal classes, the trainer must be a member of SNHSA for points to accrue.
- Membership is effective as of the date the correct and accurate application and required fees are received by the SNHSA Board; or by the show secretary of any SNHSA-sanctioned horse show, if the application is turned in at that show. Points begin to accrue from that date forward and are not retroactive.
- SNHSA offers year-end awards in 28 divisions.
- To be eligible for year-end awards in the Hunter or Jumper divisions, the horse must accumulate 10 points and must meet the Venue Rule requirement. (See Rule book for official rules).
- If a horse competes in a low participation division at three separate venues, at two (2) different physical addresses and on four (4) different days, they will be eligible for year-end awards regardless of their point total.
- To be eligible for year-end awards in the Equitation division, the rider must accumulate 10 points and must meet the Venue Rule requirement. (See Rule book for official rules).
- If a rider competes in a low participation division at three separate venues, at two (2) different physical addresses, and on four (4) different days, they will be eligible for year-end awards regardless of their point total.
- To be eligible for year-end awards in the Beginner Rider Equitation division, the only qualifications are that the rider must be a SNHSA member and must meet the Venue Rule requirement. Criteria for year-end awards are based on points earned versus points available. The rider earns 1 point for every Beginner Rider Equitation class he/she completes.
- To be eligible for year-end awards in the Walk/Trot division, the only qualifications for Silver and Bronze awards are that the horse/pony must be registered with SNHSA and the rider must be a SNHSA member. Riders who meet the Venue Rule requirement are eligible to earn the Gold award if they have earned the required amount of points. Criteria for year-end awards are based on points earned versus points available. The rider earns 1 point for every Walk/Trot class he/she completes.
