Board Member since 2020
Maguire Price (Lessard) has been a board member since 2020. She grew up in Grass Valley, CA and moved to Nevada 11 years ago with her family. She now resides in Gardnerville.
She has been riding horses since she was five-years-old. She recalls that when she was six, she told her mother that “horses are my life” and her parents made that true by giving her a pony on her 7th birthday! As a 7-year-old, she started grooming for a trainer and being a working student. For the past 10 years, Maguire and her dream/heart horse, Indy, have been making wonderful memories competing in SNHSA shows in jumpers, as well as competing in Dressage, 3-day eventing, barrel racing and rodeo. Now Indy is pregnant and due in April, 2024! Maguire has also competed in cutting and rodeo flag team on friends’ horses.
After rehabbing Indy from injuries and a near-death situation due to an infectious disease in 2020, Maguire wanted to dedicate her time to helping other horses that might be injured or sick. For the past two and a half years, Maguire has been in a career that combines her 18 years of various hands-on experience as manager and operator at Tahoe Equine Rehabilitation and Conditioning Center in Gardnerville. Her goal is to find and pursue ways to expand and increase awareness around proper conditioning and successful rehabilitation of our clients’ horses.
As a SNHSA Board member, Maguire feels that she has been a voice for independent competitors. She also hopes to become more involved with the Western Nevada Cutting Horse Association.
