SNHSA Board-Kristin Henry

Kristin Henry

Probationary Board Member 2024

As one of the newer Board members, Kristin joined SNHSA and hopes to continue to foster the inclusive nature of SNHSA and, as she tells her daughter ‘hold the gate open for the next girl or boy.’

Kristin’s previously lived in Newport Beach, Ca. but moved to Incline Village 20 years ago “to the mountains to raise our kids outside.”

With an extensive background with a bachelor’s degree in English, CLAD Teaching Credentials, and a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction, in 2020, Kristin created a licensed preschool and school-aged program for children during the pandemic to recreate and learn safely within the guidelines of California State Licensing. It became a model of practice for all licensed care within California. Currently the Youth supervisor for Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District, Kristin is also a School Site Council Member for Kings Beach Elementary Dual Immersion Program, a Board Member of KidZone, and a member of the National Teacher’s Association.

No stranger to horses, Kristin got her first horse at 12 years old and competed in gymkhana, including poles and barrel racing, along with English events such as hunter/jumper courses. A favorite memory is “camping right next to my horse in a tent, then doing the same thing with our daughter more than 30 years later.”

Kristin has three children, Logan, 22, Sawyer, 20, and Graci 10. Only Graci is an equestrian rider who has been riding at Piping Rock Equestrian Center for almost six years. “I hope to continue to support our daughter in her dreams with regards to the world of hunter jumping.”
